A Place To Thrive CIC

A PLACE TO THRIVE

Inclusive movement, sport and physical activity for children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities — in Liverpool and beyond.

"Every child deserves the opportunity to move, grow and thrive — regardless of their needs."

Ivan Rolls, Founder

WHY WE EXIST

Children with SEND are too often left out of mainstream sport and physical activity. We are here to change that.

INCLUSIVE BY DESIGN

Every programme we run is built from the ground up to be accessible, welcoming and adapted to each child's individual needs — not bolted on as an afterthought.

COMMUNITY ROOTED

As a Community Interest Company, every penny we generate goes back into delivering better services for children and families in our community.

EXPERT LED

Our programmes are commissioned by coaches with over 25 years of experience in martial arts, gymnastics and movement — with a deep personal connection to the SEND community.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Adapted physical activity programmes designed specifically for children and young people with SEND.

🤸

WHAT FAMILIES SAY

The most important measure of what we do is the difference it makes to children and families.

"

"My son has autism and has always struggled in mainstream sports clubs. At A Place To Thrive he walks in with a big smile every single week. It has changed his life."

Sarah M.

Parent of 8-year-old

"

"I never thought I could do gymnastics. The coaches make everything feel possible. I love coming here!"

Ellie, age 10

Adapted Gymnastics

"

"As a SEND school we have tried many providers. This is the first time our pupils have been genuinely included, not just accommodated. The difference is night and day."

Mrs Thompson

SENCO, Primary School

"

"My daughter has cerebral palsy and she absolutely loves the martial arts sessions. Her confidence has grown so much — she now talks about her classes to everyone she meets."

James K.

Parent of 11-year-old

"

"It's fun and the teachers are really kind. I got a certificate and I was so proud!"

Tyler, age 9

Martial Arts & Movement

"

"We were nervous about joining because of our son's sensory needs. From the very first session the team understood him completely. We finally feel like we belong somewhere."

Rachel & Dan P.
